Friday Night Special

The end of a long week...Aaaahhh!!

I think bits and pieces today.

It was awesome riding the motorcycle today. It was pretty hard on me when I got it all cleaned up last weekend and then couldn't ride due to the rain.

I got your message Maureen. I found it amusing that the rider reminded you of me, until he nearly took out a deer. The closest I've been to an animal situation with my cycle was when a hawk swooped down and snatched up a gopher. That was years ago, near Owatanno Minnesota, on my first Honda 750.

Went to a wedding tonight. Very non traditional, very old fashioned, very nice. It was the pastors first wedding. It was the bride and groom's second. The used a Chuppah which looks like this, to say their vows under. Anyway, it was a really nice time. The Chuppah is a Jewish device, but the pastor wove it nicely into a Christian service.

Have a great day!

Here it is, another week, hard fought victory or loss? It was at least hard fought, so then it must be a victory.
As you can tell, work is kicked up a notch and I am doing the best that I can. There is comfort in that, but I still want it to go smoother.

Today I was at a customer for Supplier Day. A nice time where we were asked to reduce costs by more than can be achieved. Thanks for the challenge, we'll get back to you. Actually it was a nice event, with good people saying that they appreciated what we did on a day to day basis. Best of all, we won an award, always cool to be counted in the best of the best.

This shot is of my Nephew Taylor' he's to the far right.

Sunday's Child

Sunday is such a busy day, I'm not sure how we got so far from a day of rest as it was intended. No matter, it was a pretty great day.

We had a good time in the Fort with the kids. Ian runs the sound, Spencer is our lead air guitar specialist during the music and I just love hanging out and visiting with the kids.

Holly led out a song today and she really rocked it out. Tons of people came up and said I was a pretty lucky guy to be married to such a talented lady. I assured them that I knew it, and occasionally took credit for being her vocal coach, no one believed me.

Tonight we are going to a nearby Applebee's for dessert and a little music as provided by a friend. The boys and I just finished a light dinner to save room for a dessert. Yum!

Last, but certainly not least, here's a birthday shout out to my Father In Law, Bob. You are an awesome guy, thanks for all that you do for us. I hope that this is a great year for you!

Campout Weekend

Friday night the boys and I went to the local chapter of the Izaac Walton League for a Boy Scout Campout. They used to have a website but they don't any longer. We earned the campout by by clearing some Autumn Olive shrubs for them.
Memerable points:
  • Awesome weather Friday afternoon
  • Really cool/cold over night, like 34
  • Awesome weather Saturday after the sun came up
  • Kyaking was cool
  • Spencer dumped, love that pond smell dude
  • Ian nearly dumped and caught a lot of water

No relevant picture, sorry. But here's one of me and Ian showing off the goodies from our Easter Egg Hunt.

Trilling Thursday

Great day at work, well, pretty great anyway. Landed a bit of work that we had been shut out of 1 year ago. The customer ran into problems, they asked us to help, we did and now we're back in. I love it when a plan comes together! (It wasn't my plan, just a hope.)
I have an awesome story from Jim and Nancy; This is a story about Dawn's boy Levi. Levi is a twin to Luke. They are 4 1/2. The Sunday school teacher is explaining the Crucifixion to the class. She said if Jesus hadn't Died on the cross we would all go to Hell for our sins. It was quiet and Levi said "Holy Crap!" That is a little boy that gets the consequences.

Tonight was Spence's spring concert. He and the rest of the 6th graders did great. Below is my usual "Where's Spence?" photo. Since Cindy always checks really early in the morning, I am going to say that the first one after Cindy to correctly ID Spence wins a pizza made by yours truly. Lawyer talk: must accept prize at my location, only one winner allowed. Cindy gets a pizza when ever she wants. Judges decisions are final. Good Luck!

I have tried to upload video on this but it just doesn't work so well. So I have uploaded to YouTube, just click here and maybe you'll be able to see Spence.

Have an awesome day!

Wonderful Wednesday

I have discovered that my work stress has abated enough for me to get my mojo back. Today was a day that I was blessed all day long. It started with an email that was uplifting through proving our point to a customer and winning the work through a nice quiet dinner with Holly to picking up the boys from youth group and discovering that it was bird night and I could hold them. Very cool.
Is that was the "Blue Bird of Happiness" looks like?
Anyone remember "Beretta"?
I held the one shown below, and she was heavy, but you can't say that!

Aside to Larry. Yeah, it's tough when they head south for a break and we're stuck. But soon enough we'll be riding and they'll be on 4 wheels. I have a tire getting replaced and couldn't ride today. Rats! Patience, that what I need.
Aside to Cindy, awesome that the whole family still does the big Easter thing. I guess we'll keep it going for awhile longer.
Have a great day!

I am struggling with this blog lately since I'm not in my happy place with work. Don't get me wrong, I love work, the job is crazy busy. But how often do you guys need to hear that? I thought so, not very often. With that out, what's left is me striving for a humorous this or that.

That's part of why I've become so erratic with my posting.
As I consider my lassitude, I realize that I have just missed Larry and Terri's 21'st anniversary. Wow, that's a long time. You are still cute couple though. Happy Belated Anniversary!

Finally, here's a self photo of Spencer and I. We are a cute couple.

Have a great day!
