Spring clean up

Hello and Happy Saturday to one and all.

I have finally come out from under the huge amount of work that is a product launch for one of our key customers. While it's not done yet, it's way closer than we were last week and I am sure to be getting it done now!

The boys and I went and worked in the yard for a few hours this afternoon and as a reward, I allowed Ian to play some video games. Remember, he's been banned from video games since we saw his dismal grades last term. Here he is, trying to capture them all in a single session. Play Station is the Guitar Hero guitar, Xbox is the controller in his right hand and the WII is the white blob in his left hand. Over the top!

Have a great day!

A cold and dreary Sunday

I am making a break here, the post titles are now up for grabs. The Blog/Email, is still called Photo of the day. But since I am not daily anymore, I will try to title the post to the topic contained within.

It snowed today. Not fair! It's been warm, I've run a tank of gas through the Honda, it's really Spring. No, I'm sure of it. Patience is for others, not for me. Maybe next year.

I have a Birthday Shout Out for my Brother Jeff!
Dude, when did we decide to get older?
I am so sorry, but all I have is the shots from the big get togethers.
This shot is from the Holiday Inn in Austin.
I think this was taken at my dad's funeral.
Jeff, have an awesome day, you deserve it!

Photo of the day, Friday

Good grief! It's Friday already. How did that happen? No matter, it's all good!

Holly update; She's walking, driving, shopping, and generally back in charge. Whew, I really missed her steady hand on the family tiller/schedule.

I have a Birthday Shout Out to Dan. Dan is, I think, Holly's third cousin's husband, or some sort of relation such as that. Dan's a great guy that is so techno savvy he makes my head hurt. Dan, I did look for photo's but I didn't have any of my own. Maybe we should do dinner again some time and I could get a fresh set of photos.
It's a great looking family, BJ, Ginger, Dan and Taylor.

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Thursday

Work is crazy busy. I have never had a launch that was this big, busy, hard, complicated... you can enter your own adjective. I am trying to balance more stuff than a life should have to balance.

Interesting week though. I discovered that my definition of my "self" is worthless. I used to define myself as an engineer. After all, I did the work in college, I earned it, I am an Engineer. Hard to explain, but it's not so important. God showed me that my sense of priorities was a bit skewed. Thanks to God, my loyalties are more clearly stated now as:

  1. Child of God
  2. Husband of Holly
  3. Father of Ian and Spencer
  4. Neighbor of many
  5. Employee
Yeah, that makes much more sense. I just need to remember, I'm Fifth, not First.

Here's a shot of simplicity from last summer, just me and my gal, life was so good!

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Saturday

The answer to the previous photo question is my Great Grandmother, Ivy Bell, or as we fondly knew her, Nanny. She was prominent in our lives, I remember Friday night pancakes and watching the Flintstones on TV. She was a very powerful force to be reckoned with.
Wow, what a hectic day! There was a choir performance at the local Expo, Merit badge work at AirZoo in Kalamazoo and Holly went to a cooking class here in town. Bob, that's a link you should follow, (again with stuff that you came readily to mind)
Here's Spencer and some of the others busting a move while singing. Way beyond my limited skill set that's for sure. He did great! He also had a spot where he gave a bit of a yell or a whoop or what ever to punctuate a song, it sounded really good.

Here's the gang of scout we brought to the AirZoo. Ian's only comment, "I went upside down in a simulator, he he he!" Spencer and I didn't and we're ok with that.
Have a awesome day!

Spencer has been under the weather this week with some sort of virus that's had a pretty high temp and some other side effects. Poor kid, he told me that he was too sick to go to school on Tuesday and of course, I didn't believe him and made him get up. Once Holly was up, he was sent back to bed and they went to Dr. Bob Wednesday. The antibiotics seem harder on him then the illness was, but I'm just an engineer.

Here's one I stumbled on while looking for Birthday Photos. This, as you are probably all tuned into, is Holly since the accident. OK, not really and not really funny. I know who this is, anyone else?

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Wedensday

Weather was pretty good again today, so I could have rode the bike again, but I chose not to based on a faulty weather report. There was no rain today, but tomorrow, well, we'll see.
I got these from Dave. Taylor, if you get this, well, all I can say is you look so smooth. Also, Thanks to Taylor and all the young men and women that are serving with him around the world. You are all my hero's!

Have a great day!
