Photo of the day, Saturday

Holly Update: Holly's obsessed with "Roller Coaster Tycoon". She's feeling good and living the life as we're waiting for the next update from the doctor. Hard to believe it's been nearly 6 weeks since the accident. Amazing how great she's doing, and that's for sure.

Crazy wild snow storm here today. They closed several chunks of the freeways around here. It was bad out, but we did what we needed early and then spent the rest of the day hunkering down and doing what we needed to in the house.
Here's a shot of me from our Chrismas party in 2008. Best I could do today.

Have a great day!

Holly Update: Not much to note, she's well and looking for a relaxing night. The Physical Therapist was in this afternoon and got good readings for all the critical dimensions, you know, ankle bend passive and active. You don't know that stuff? Passive is how far Holly can bend it on her own and Active is with them "helping" you bend. Needless to say, you want to have good passive numbers, but no matter what, the active numbers usually hurt to get.

Work was. I am reconstituting my view of work. I'll get back to you on this.

Lesson #2 - Chicken Pot Pie with cin a bites, cinnamon sprinkled onto a pie crust and then wrapped up and baked. Below is our boy Spencer showing off his finest looking product. I am so proud of these boys. This is finally working out!
Have a great day,

Holly Update: She is marvelous! Check it out on her blog, she's playing games on the computer again. Not healed, but definitely on the mend.

One of the deals that we just happened to make with the boys is that we would teach them to cook our favorite meals. First up, Ian with our version of a gondola. He did an awesome job!

Here's the cook!

Here's the creation! Well done!

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Wednesday

Holly update: While getting tired of the wheelchair she's doing great! It was shower day today and that always helps someones mood, being clean and sparkly don't you know. Less than a week to go and we'll see the surgeon and see what the next steps are. Still upbeat, but weary, that's us.

It was a grueling day at work today. And really that's enough said. The environment of the economy is so down that we try to ignore it, but it's right up the street with layoffs and company's going into Chapter 11. Nuff said, I'm getting depressed right before bed, not a good idea.

How to get out of the funk? Show a picture of one of your kids being silly. Now that's refreshing!

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Monday

Holly Update: It was shower day, but with Boy Scouts right behind it and a full day of work ahead of it, I'm not sure that it was a relaxing time for Holly. But clean is sometimes reward enough, or at least I hope so. She's doing great, bored in the chair, but knowing that next Tuesday (we're hoping) will be an actual step forward, well, that's the light at the end of the tunnel. We both know it's going to be rough to get moving again, but hey, at least she's able to.

This is not a good photo. But it thought provoking, by that I mean, you can create a story. I've been subscribing to something called Artist of the Day and that has made me review my stuff with a new eye. I like this photo, do you?

Have a great day!

Photo of the day, Sunday

Holly Update: She was marvelous today! She was up early. Got dressed into nice clothes. Did her hair and make up we got her to church by 7:30 this morning. She was singing with the worship team and so they need to get there early to run through the whole sequence, from opening announcements to final dismissal. On top of that, she led out a song and rocked the joint! She said she couldn't begin to count the number of people that caught her eye and gave her a thumbs up, a smile, a wave, or most often, all three. Needless to say, she was exhausted when we finally got home and after dinner, it was nap time.
Not much else going on here, I hung with the kids in Sunday school, made a pot roast, chauffeured the family around and took a nap myself. In all, a really good day. I hope that yours was too!

Here's a an oldie but a goodie, Holly posing with some 3D glasses. You know we splurged to get them, they came in a box of Fruity Pebbles cereal.
Have an awesome Monday!
