Photo of the day, Special Saturday Edition

I just realized that today, Saturday, March 14 is my sister-in-law's birthday. While I'm not saying she's old, below she's holding her latest grand baby. (OK, she only has the one, but still...) I guess I don't remember to get the camera out much when we visit because we're focused on having fun and catching up, so I really only found a couple to share. Happy Birthday Pam! I hope this is a great year for you!

Dave and Judy are visiting the area today and so that's going to be fun. I hope to have some luck at the cribbage board, but I'm not counting on it, he's pretty lucky, not so good, but lucky. Will try to remember to get the camera out for a shot or two of the visit.
Have a great day!

Holly Update: Holly's doing great! She's doing more and more each day. Next Monday the ramp is being removed and that's going to free up my motorcycle for some spring riding. Oh, wait, this is supposed to be Holly's update. Therapy is going really well and she's really starting to enjoy driving her new car. Now we need to find the book to it so that she can figure out what all the buttons are for.

For me, well, work is totally burying me. I really like it when we are busy, but the engineering/new product projects are close to swamping us right now. I hate to complain because I know that many are not as busy. Hopefully some of these will be winners once the economy breaks.
Here's a shot of Ian's high school class ring. Seems like we used to get that between Junior and Senior year. Kids mature earlier and we buy them expensive jewelry earlier. Yes, it's Josten's.
Have a great day,
Pat

Holly Update: She's doing great! While the boys and I went up north on a boy scout weekend, she went to the home show and walked around for over an hour. She's looking good!

Speaking of up north, it was the annual cabin camp out. We stay at a the Roger Chaffee Memorial Bunkhouse. Astronaut Chaffee was one of the astronauts that died on the launch pad during the Apollo program. The link has more information. He was an Eagle Scout from Grand Rapids, and so now you know why it's named in his honor, we don't have a lot of eagle scouts that get famous.

The weekend is a kind of lazy camping trip, what with bunkhouse style cabin, stove, refrigerator, etc. But we do a bit of service with retiring flags and then the boys can play capture the flag, some minor video games, card games, movies etc. Generally a relaxing weekend. Here’s a few shots of the boys working on the flags.
Dismantling is first.

The actual retirement.

Additionally, Spencer, the troop Chaplin’s Aide, lead our Sunday service. Here he is doing a great job.

Have a great day!
